About the Producer

Segura Viudas is one of the most historic and recognized cava producers in Spain, with roots dating back to the  11th century . The estate, located in the heart of the  Penedès region , was originally a fortified farmhouse (masía) built to protect vineyards from invasions — a heritage that still defines the winery’s identity today.

The name  Segura Viudas  translates to “secure widows,” reflecting the estate’s historical role as a place of refuge. Over the centuries, the property evolved into a center for viticulture, and in the 20th century it became dedicated to the production of cava using the traditional method.

Today, Segura Viudas combines this deep heritage with modern winemaking techniques. The winery focuses on consistency, balance and quality, producing cavas that are approachable yet refined. Their vineyards benefit from the Mediterranean climate and limestone-rich soils of Penedès, contributing to freshness, structure and elegance in the wines.
