Description
Alagú Rosé | DO Alicante, Spain
Alagú Rosé is a distinctive Mediterranean rosé crafted from 100% Forcallat, a rare indigenous red grape variety once widely planted across south-eastern Spain but now found in only a small number of old vineyards. Produced by Casa Corredor, this is a rosé with a genuine sense of place — fresh, elegant and very different from the more familiar Mediterranean rosé styles.
The Forcallat comes from mature vines planted at approximately 600 metres above sea level on clay-loam soils. The variety is particularly well adapted to the dry conditions and high summer temperatures of this part of Spain, naturally producing wines with freshness, finesse and aromatic character.
The grapes are harvested by hand during the first half of October. At the winery, the whole grapes are destemmed and gently direct-pressed before undergoing cold settling for 24 hours. Fermentation then takes place in stainless-steel tanks using indigenous yeasts at a controlled temperature, preserving the delicate fruit and floral character of the Forcallat.
In the glass, Alagú Rosé is elegant and wonderfully fresh, combining delicate red fruit and floral aromas with a light, balanced palate and lively acidity. Persistent rather than powerful, it is a rosé defined by finesse, freshness and the distinctive personality of one of Spain’s nearly forgotten native grape varieties.

💎 Why We Love It
A rosé with a story — made entirely from the rare native Forcallat grape. Elegant, fresh and beautifully individual, it offers something genuinely different from the usual Mediterranean rosado.
About the Producer
Casa Corredor began its journey in 2003 with a clear aim: to combine traditional viticulture with modern winemaking while protecting the identity of the local landscape. The project later joined MGWines Group and strengthened its commitment to recovering indigenous grape varieties that had almost disappeared.
Forcallat sits at the heart of the Alagú project. Growers once cultivated this variety widely across south-eastern Spain, but vineyard restructuring and the growing popularity of international varieties caused plantings to decline dramatically. Today, only a limited number of mature Forcallat vineyards remain.
Casa Corredor chose Forcallat for its strong connection to the region and its natural ability to cope with Mediterranean conditions. The mature vines used for Alagú grow at approximately 600 metres above sea level, where the altitude helps the grapes retain freshness and develop aromatic complexity.
With Alagú Rosé, Casa Corredor shows another side of this historic grape. Forcallat brings delicate red fruit, floral character and lively acidity to a rosé that feels elegant, fresh and unmistakably Mediterranean.
