Description
Canals & Munné Priorat Reserva | DO Priorat, Spain
Canals & Munné Priorat Reserva is a rich and structured red with the unmistakable character of Priorat: ripe dark fruit, Mediterranean warmth and a long, elegant finish.
It brings together Garnacha Negra, Cariñena, Syrah, Merlot and Cabernet Franc, creating a generous blend with plenty of fruit, depth and structure.
The grapes come from south-west-facing slopes with Priorat’s characteristic llicorella slate soils. These steep, stony vineyards help give the wine its concentration and distinctive mineral character. The grapes are harvested by hand before a short cold pre-maceration.
Ageing in 225-litre French oak barrels, followed by a minimum of 12 months in bottle, rounds out the wine beautifully. The result is powerful without feeling heavy, with ripe black fruit, polished structure and a long finish.
A classic choice for anyone who loves the intensity of Priorat but still wants elegance and balance in the glass.

About the Producer
Canals & Munné is a small family winery whose story began in 1915, when Josep Canals Capellades, great-grandfather of today’s winemaker Òscar Canals, founded the business.
More than a century later, the winery remains in family hands. Òscar Canals Medina leads the winemaking, while Ivan M. Canals is commercial director and Montserrat Canals Torres is the current manager. The fifth generation of the family has now also arrived.
The winery is based in Sant Sadurní d’Anoia, in the heart of Catalonia’s historic sparkling-wine country. Although Canals & Munné is particularly well known for its Cava, the family also produces a range of still wines, including this red from Priorat.
For its Priorat Reserva, the winery works with fruit from the region’s distinctive llicorella slopes. The combination of Mediterranean varieties, slate soils and careful oak ageing produces a wine with the depth expected from Priorat while maintaining an elegant, polished character.
