Description
Lunático Syrah | DO Jumilla, Spain
Lunático Syrah is a rich, smooth and wonderfully expressive red, packed with ripe fruit but with enough freshness to keep it beautifully balanced.
Syrah has adapted particularly well to Jumilla’s warm Mediterranean climate, producing deeply coloured wines with plenty of fruit and spice. Here, expect ripe blackberry, plum and dark cherry, followed by smoky notes, balsamic touches and a hint of vanilla from the oak.
On the palate, it is generous and silky, with ripe fruit, smooth tannins and gentle toasted spice. Nine months in oak gives the wine extra depth and roundness without losing that juicy Syrah character.
This is a proper crowd-pleasing red: full of flavour, smooth enough to enjoy on its own and with enough structure to bring to the dinner table.

💎 Why We Love It
A big-hearted Syrah that doesn’t become hard work — ripe, silky and packed with dark fruit, with just enough smoky spice from the oak.
About the Producer
Casa de la Ermita is located in Sierra del Carche, one of the most distinctive vineyard areas of Jumilla and home to some of the highest mountains in Murcia.
The family winery was founded in 1999, bringing together generations of agricultural experience with modern winemaking. Its vineyards extend across around 100 hectares, with the landscape and altitude of El Carche playing an important role in the character of the wines.
Monastrell is naturally the star grape of Jumilla, but Casa de la Ermita has also worked successfully with international varieties particularly suited to the region, including Syrah, Petit Verdot, Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon.
Lunático Syrah shows exactly why Syrah works here. The warm climate brings ripe, generous fruit, while the wine retains enough freshness to prevent it becoming overly heavy.
After nine months in oak, the result is a delicious combination of ripe dark fruit, silky texture, smoke, spice and a touch of vanilla — straightforward enough to simply enjoy, but with plenty of personality in the glass.
