L’Alba de Faelo is a vibrant Mediterranean rosé from Bodegas Faelo, crafted from 100% Syrah grown in the countryside around Elche in DO Alicante. Fresh, expressive and beautifully aromatic, it combines generous red fruit with lively freshness and a smooth, rounded palate.

The Syrah grapes are harvested entirely by hand at the very beginning of the day. In fact, this early harvest gives the wine its name — alba means dawn. Picking while the grapes are still cool helps preserve their natural freshness, aromas and flavours before they reach the winery.

Fermentation takes place at a controlled temperature, with manual remontage used to achieve the desired colour while extracting the aromatic character and flavour of the Syrah grape. Production remains deliberately small, with approximately 4,000 bottles produced depending on the vintage.

On the nose, L’Alba de Faelo is fragrant and expressive, showing strawberry, raspberry and redcurrant alongside a distinctive touch of freshly cut grass and a delicate creamy note. The palate is generous yet wonderfully fresh, with juicy red fruit, a smooth texture and a long, pleasant finish.

A characterful Alicante rosé that offers considerably more personality than a simple summer rosado — fresh enough for an aperitif, but with the fruit and structure to work beautifully at the table.

About the Producer

Bodegas Faelo is a small family winery located in Matola, in the countryside of Elche, Alicante. Officially founded in 2000, the winery continues a family winemaking tradition stretching back several generations and remains closely connected to the traditional viticulture of the Camp d’Elx.

The winery owns approximately three hectares of vineyards divided between three plots at the winery, Matola and Crevillente. The vineyards are planted on sandy-limestone soils under a Mediterranean climate, with varieties including Monastrell, Moscatel de Alejandría, Cabernet Sauvignon, Petit Verdot, Syrah and Chardonnay.

Vineyard work, including pruning, green pruning, harvesting and cultivation, is carried out manually. Faelo also plants aromatic herbs such as rosemary, lavender, sage and thyme amongst the vineyards, helping create a more natural vineyard environment and encouraging natural methods of pest control.

Since 2012, Bodegas Faelo and its vineyards have formed part of DO Alicante. Production remains deliberately limited, with only selected wines bottled and careful attention given to quality throughout the entire process.

L’Alba de Faelo is a perfect expression of this small-scale approach — 100% Syrah, picked by hand at dawn to preserve freshness and made in limited quantities. Its quality has also received recent recognition, with L’Alba taking Gold in the rosé category at the 2025 ASPA Awards for Alicante DOP wines.
