Description
Ad Gaude Albariño | DO Alicante, Spain
Organic
Ad Gaude Albariño is a wine that challenges expectations. Produced by Casa Sicilia 1707 in DO Alicante, it is made from 100% Albariño grown under the Mediterranean sun. It was the first Albariño planted in Alicante, proving that this iconic Galician grape can thrive far beyond its traditional home.
The vines are more than 20 years old and are harvested by hand in the cool early hours of the morning to preserve freshness and aromatic intensity. After gentle pressing, part of the wine ferments in stainless steel while a small portion ferments in French oak. It then spends around 10 months ageing on its fine lees, adding texture, complexity and impressive ageing potential.
On the nose, Ad Gaude offers aromas of citrus, peach and ripe stone fruit, supported by delicate toasted notes from its time in oak. The palate is smooth and elegant, combining vibrant freshness with a creamy texture and remarkable depth. A subtle saline finish reflects the Mediterranean influence and leaves a lasting impression.
Whether served with seafood, grilled fish or a traditional Spanish rice dish, Ad Gaude Albariño shows that Alicante is capable of producing truly distinctive white wines with both freshness and complexity.
