Description
Bodega Cerrón El Tiempo Que Nos Une | DO Jumilla, Spain
Organic
El Tiempo Que Nos Une is a beautiful expression of high-altitude Monastrell from DO Jumilla — full of Mediterranean fruit, but with the freshness and energy that define Bodega Cerrón.
The wine comes from old vineyards around Fuente-Álamo, Albacete, planted at 850–900 meters above sea level. Warm days bring ripeness and generous fruit, while the cooler nights help the grapes retain freshness and acidity.
The vineyards — Tirillas, La Muela and Las Pedreras — are around 60–70 years old and planted predominantly on calcareous soils. Cerrón sees this limestone as fundamental to the wine, bringing a marked saline character and freshness despite the warm Mediterranean climate.
In the cellar, the grapes are harvested and selected by hand. Fermentation is spontaneous, using native yeasts and around 40% whole bunches, in cement tanks inspired by traditional lagares. After gentle pressing, the wine completes malolactic fermentation and ageing in large French-oak vats.
The result is wonderfully drinkable Monastrell: ripe dark fruit, Mediterranean herbs, gentle spice and balsamic notes, with freshness running right through the palate.
There is plenty of character here, but it never becomes heavy. Instead, El Tiempo Que Nos Une shows the fresher, more fluid and energetic side of Monastrell.

A fresh, beautifully drinkable expression of Monastrell with plenty of Mediterranean personality. Old vines and high altitude give it fruit and character without the heaviness sometimes associated with the grape.
About Bodega Cerrón
Bodega Cerrón is a family project based in Fuente-Álamo, Albacete, in one of the highest parts of DO Jumilla.
The family’s philosophy centres on preserving the viticultural heritage surrounding their village. Old and abandoned vineyards have been recovered, while organic and biodynamic practices are used to encourage the vineyards to express their individual soils and landscapes.
Altitude is particularly important here. Many of the vineyards sit around 800–900 meters, where warm Mediterranean days are balanced by considerably cooler nights.
The area’s limestone-rich soils are another defining feature. Cerrón believes they contribute the freshness and saline character that repeatedly appear across its wines.
El Tiempo Que Nos Une is perhaps one of the most immediately enjoyable introductions to the Cerrón style.
The name — “The Time That Unites Us” — fits the wine beautifully. It is a wine rooted in family, generations of vineyard work and the simple idea of opening a bottle and sharing it around the table.
Above all, it shows just how fresh and expressive Monastrell from the higher vineyards of Jumilla can be.
