Description
Louis Latour Chablis La Chanfleure | Chablis, France
There is Chardonnay — and then there is Chablis. Louis Latour’s La Chanfleure is a beautiful example of why this little corner of northern Burgundy has become one of the world’s most famous places for Chardonnay.
Made from 100% Chardonnay, La Chanfleure comes from vineyards planted on the limestone-rich soils for which Chablis is renowned. These soils, together with the region’s cooler climate, help give Chablis its unmistakable combination of freshness, citrus fruit and mineral character.
And despite Burgundy’s reputation for oak-aged Chardonnay, there is no oak ageing here. The wine is fermented and then aged for 8–10 months in stainless steel, keeping the fruit wonderfully pure and allowing that fresh, mineral Chablis character to shine through.
Even the name has a story. “La Chanfleure” is an old term for the traditional pipette once used by cellar workers to draw wine directly from a barrel for tasting. Maison Louis Latour chose the name for a selection of its wines as a distinctive reference to this piece of Burgundian wine tradition.
Fresh, elegant and beautifully balanced, this is Chardonnay for people who prefer their whites crisp and mineral rather than rich and buttery. Citrus, delicate florals and a subtle almond character meet a rounded texture and clean mineral finish — classic Chablis with plenty of personality.

💎 Why We Love It
Because this is Chardonnay without the heaviness.
No big oak, no buttery overload — just fresh citrus, lovely texture and that clean mineral finish that makes Chablis so ridiculously easy to drink.
It is also a great bottle for anyone who tells us, “I don’t really like Chardonnay.” This is exactly the kind of wine that can change their mind. Same grape, completely different personality.
About the Producer
Maison Louis Latour is one of the great historic names of Burgundy, with a family wine history stretching back for generations and its roots firmly established in the Côte de Beaune.
Today the house produces wines across Burgundy, including Chablis in the north, while remaining closely associated with Chardonnay and Pinot Noir and the individual character of Burgundy’s different vineyard areas.
La Chanfleure shows the fresher side of the house beautifully. Rather than using oak to add richness, Louis Latour keeps this Chablis in stainless steel, allowing the Chardonnay and the limestone soils of Chablis to do the talking
