Description
Blanc d’Enguera Arroyo | DO Valencia, Spain
Organic
If you’ve never tried Verdil, this is a beautiful introduction to one of Valencia’s lesser-known local grapes.
Blanc d’Enguera Arroyo comes from a single vineyard beside the stream that crosses Bodegas Enguera’s Casa Corones estate in Fontanars dels Alforins. Made from 100% Verdil, it has much more personality and texture than you might expect from a fresh Mediterranean white.
The aromas are wonderfully inviting. Apricot and ripe stone fruit come first, followed by hints of tropical fruit, orange blossom and jasmine. On the palate, it’s smooth and rounded, with enough freshness to keep everything beautifully balanced.
Time spent resting on its lees gives the wine its lovely creamy texture, but don’t expect something heavy or overly oaky. This is still fresh, elegant and very easy to drink.
It’s also a brilliant bottle for anyone who enjoys discovering Spanish wines beyond the familiar grapes. Verdil is rarely seen outside Valencia, which makes this one particularly fun to introduce at the table.

💎 Why We Love It
Because Verdil deserves to be discovered.
Spain has hundreds of native grapes, yet we tend to hear about the same handful again and again. This bottle gives you something genuinely Valencian: a local grape, a single vineyard and a wine with plenty of character.
It’s different enough to be interesting, but not so unusual that you need to be a wine expert to enjoy it.
About the Producer
Bodegas Enguera is a family winery with deep roots in Valencia. Today, the winery works across vineyards in Enguera and Fontanars dels Alforins, with a strong focus on organic farming and protecting the natural environment around its vines.
The team has become particularly interesting for the way it combines traditional Valencian grapes with modern ideas. Verdil is a perfect example. Instead of overlooking this little-known local variety, Bodegas Enguera has made it an important part of its identity.
For Arroyo, the grapes come from a single dry-farmed parcel beside the stream at Finca Casa Corones. The vineyard is around 20 years old and sits at approximately 650 metres above sea level.
It’s this combination of local grapes, individual vineyards and a genuine sense of place that makes Bodegas Enguera such an interesting producer — and makes wines like Arroyo much more than simply another Spanish white.
