Description
Delampa 50 Años | DO Jumilla, Spain
Delampa 50 Años is a characterful old-vine Monastrell from Bodegas Delampa, created as a tribute to the winery’s long family history in Jumilla. The wine comes from mature Monastrell vines with more than half a century of age, giving it the concentration, depth and unmistakable Mediterranean personality that define this traditional variety.
The old vines grow in the demanding conditions of Jumilla, where the dry climate and poor soils naturally restrict yields and concentrate flavour in the grapes. Generations of the Delampa family have cared for these vineyards, making the wine as much a celebration of their heritage as an expression of Monastrell itself.
After fermentation, Delampa ages the wine for 12 months in oak. The maturation adds complexity and roundness while allowing the ripe fruit to remain at the centre of the wine. Vanilla, cocoa and liquorice complement the mature fruit, while subtle oak adds another layer without dominating the character of the Monastrell.
On the palate, Delampa 50 Años feels structured and rounded, with polished tannins and good tension. Ripe fruit and warm spice carry through to a long, savoury finish, creating a generous red with plenty of depth while retaining balance and elegance.
This is classic old-vine Jumilla Monastrell — rich, expressive and deeply connected to its origins. Its combination of mature vineyards, 12 months of oak ageing and excellent value makes Delampa 50 Años a particularly impressive expression of the region.

About the Producer
Bodegas Delampa is a family winery based in Jumilla, Murcia, with a winemaking tradition that stretches back through several generations. The family has maintained a strong connection with the vineyards and with Monastrell, the grape variety that defines both the winery and the wider identity of DO Jumilla.
The winery focuses on wines that express the dry, demanding landscape of the region. Jumilla’s low rainfall, abundant sunshine and poor soils create challenging conditions for the vines, but Monastrell thrives here and develops remarkable concentration and Mediterranean character.
Old vineyards play an especially important role in Delampa’s identity. Mature vines produce naturally smaller yields and more concentrated fruit, giving the winery the raw material for wines with greater structure, complexity and depth.
Delampa 50 Años celebrates this heritage. The winery produces it from mature Monastrell vines and gives the wine 12 months in oak to develop additional complexity while preserving the character of the fruit.
The wine has also earned significant recognition, including Gold at Mundus Vini in two consecutive years and selection among the 100 best wines in Spain — further recognition of the quality that these old Jumilla vineyards can deliver.
