Description
Casa de la Ermita Parcela La Solana Viognier | DO Jumilla
Organic
Casa de la Ermita Parcela La Solana is a remarkable white wine that showcases just how well Viognier has adapted to the unique climate of DO Jumilla. Produced from a single vineyard known as La Solana, it was the first Viognier vineyard planted in Jumilla, making it an important milestone in the region’s modern winemaking history.
The grapes are harvested by hand before being gently pressed to obtain the purest juice. Fermentation takes place in new French oak barrels at a controlled temperature, followed by ageing on the fine lees with regular bâtonnage. This careful approach adds richness and texture while preserving the grape’s natural freshness and aromatic elegance.
On the nose, the wine reveals expressive aromas of white peach, pear and citrus fruit, supported by subtle hints of coconut and delicate oak. The palate is rich and full-bodied without losing its freshness. A vibrant acidity keeps the wine beautifully balanced, while the long, persistent finish highlights both the fruit and its careful barrel ageing.
Whether paired with seafood, roasted poultry or creamy Mediterranean dishes, Casa de la Ermita Parcela La Solana is a superb example of how Viognier can produce elegant and age-worthy wines in southern Spain.

About the Producer
Casa de la Ermita was founded in the heart of DO Jumilla, where high-altitude vineyards, limestone soils and a dry Mediterranean climate create ideal conditions for producing expressive wines with great character. From the beginning, the winery has combined respect for the region’s winemaking traditions. They have also made a commitment to innovation, helping to expand the range of grape varieties successfully grown in Jumilla.
The estate is particularly well known for its work with Monastrell, but it has also become a pioneer in producing outstanding white wines. The planting of the first Viognier vineyard in the region marked an important step in that journey. Today, Casa de la Ermita continues to farm organically and also produce wines that reflect both the unique landscape of Jumilla and the personality of each individual vineyard.
