Sofía Cañizares Blanco is a vibrant and characterful white wine produced in the heart of DO Alicante , combining Macabeo, Chardonnay and Moscatel into a wine that perfectly reflects the Mediterranean landscape and the new generation of Alicante winemaking. Created by Rafa Cañizares Viticultor , the wine forms part of a personal family project dedicated to authenticity, vineyard expression and careful craftsmanship.

The wine is produced from three carefully selected vineyards located in the Alto Vinalopó area of ​​Alicante. Native Mediterranean varieties Macabeo and Moscatel provide aromatic intensity and freshness, while Chardonnay contributes structure, texture and balance. Each plot is harvested separately at optimal ripeness, allowing every variety to express its personality before blending.

To preserve freshness while adding complexity, the wine spends a short period aging on its lees in concrete, creating greater volume and texture without masking the purity of the fruit.

On the nose, Sofía Cañizares Blanco opens with aromas of white peach, melon, citrus peel and Mediterranean flowers, supported by delicate herbal notes and hints of fennel. The palate is fresh, rounded and expressive, offering vibrant fruit, balanced acidity and a long elegant finish with subtle mineral freshness.

This is a modern Alicante white wine that remains deeply rooted in its Mediterranean identity — fresh, gastronomic and wonderfully easy to enjoy.

About the Producer

Sofía Cañizares represents the fifth generation of a family deeply connected to viticulture and winemaking. Raised among the vineyards of Alicante and trained in oenology, she developed her passion for wine alongside her father, renowned winemaker Rafael Cañizares, while gradually creating her own vision and style.

The Sofía Cañizares range was created as a highly personal project focused on producing wines that are expressive, approachable and strongly connected to the Mediterranean landscape. While rooted in the family’s winemaking heritage, these wines reflect Sofía’s own interpretation of Alicante — fresher, more delicate and centred around elegance, drinkability and authenticity.

Working closely in both the vineyard and winery, Sofía focuses on preserving varietal character and highlighting the identity of each site through careful vineyard management and minimal intervention during vinification. Her wines are designed to express place and personality rather than power, combining freshness, balance and a modern Mediterranean style.
